When I was 12, I met another 12 year old named
Bobby Fuller, we spent an evening
on a merry-go-round
at a neighborhood grade school ground.
He spoke of his love of music,
His garage was a studio, he sang and played
the electric guitar wrote lyrics too.
He had Amps, and Speakers,
and Woofers and Tweeters,
and Tablature from those he admired.
I thought him a Nerd, and did not go visit
even though he
insisted
I should......
After we both had grown up,
he became famous
He was "I fought the law and the law won..."
but
his career did not last long.
He was found dead in his car
overtaken by carbon monoxide fumes
I regretted not knowing him better...
or did I save myself
from a similar fate,
or...he could have taught me to play or sing or
write lyrics,
he would have been the kind to control and push...
