There are two kinds of Dogs
Domesticated and Wild.
All Tame Dogs serve
Mankind by doing
special work, ..ie
(sled dogs, guide dogs,
rescue dogs,
drug sniffing dogs,
tracking dogs,
hunting dogs,
guard dogs, show dogs,
performing dogs...)
or they are Pets and
Special Companions
for theaged or sick.
And I would say there are
two kinds of Wild Dogs..
True Wild Dogs live with
little to no knowledge of Civilization.
Steve the Dog is a Wild Dog
living close to Civilization,
But not really in it.
Born of the Streets,
Born of Feral Conception
Happy and Free,
Running with tongue
hanging out the side
of his jaw..
pounding his paws
in wet grass and mud..
or Rolling on is Back,
Sniffing and Tasting
All of the Wild Outdoors
and Mankind's Tidbits.
But with no Collar
or Pedigree, he is
Soon Captured and
Taken to the Pound...
His Health looked to,
Cleaned Up,
And later Taken
To a new Home
with Civilized Humans.
With Complete Joy he
Welcomes this New
Environment..
But Adjustments were Difficult,
Stress too Much....
And after Lifting his
Leg to a New Sofa...
It was Back to the Pound.
A Sad, Angry, and Confused Dog now
He Howled and Fought
and was Beat Down..
But Again...
Taken to a Newer Home,
Again of Loving Civilized Humans
.........Sigh, another Adjustment...
He Reluctantly Accepts...
But
With One Eye and Paw
Ready to Escape
Should it turn out As Before.
